To commemorate this special occasion, the distillery is releasing a limited edition whisky called the Filey Bay 10th Anniversary Special Release. Yorkshire’s First Single Malt Distillery
Established as Yorkshire's first single malt whisky distillery, the Spirit of Yorkshire has gained a reputation for producing high-quality whisky from field to bottle. The distillery is located on a family farm, where they use 100% homegrown barley that is regeneratively farmed. This means that the farming methods help improve the health of the soil and the environment, making it a sustainable choice for whisky production. The water used in the whisky comes from deep aquifers beneath the chalk of the farm, adding to the local character of the spirit.
Special Release Details
The Filey Bay 10th Anniversary Special Release has an alcohol volume of 49.9% and is priced at £90 for a 70cl bottle. The whisky is particularly special as it includes spirit from the distillery's first-ever cask, which was laid down back in 2016. This means that the whisky not only represents the distillery's journey but also includes a piece of its history. This limited edition release is matured in a combination of ex-Madeira and ex-Bourbon casks, which contribute to its unique flavour profile. Only 2016 bottles will be available, making it a collector's item for whisky enthusiasts.
