About The Old Waiting Rooms
Description
Access to the cottage is directly from Hunmanby Station platform and is part of the original station buildings built in 1846. The owners, John and Monica Bridge, live in the Old Station House which was the Station Master's home.
Hunmanby is a charming village with pubs, cafes, restaurant, shops, Co-op supermarket , open 6a.m.-10p.m. (with 'hole in the wall' cash facility) and takeaways. The village centre is less than 10mins walk away.
Hunmanby is in the Yorkshire Wolds with the Wolds Way and Cleveland Way nearby which are popular with walkers. There are cycling routes through the surrounding countryside. The nearest coast is Hunmanby Bay less than 2 miles away, Filey is 2 1/2 miles distant (5 mins by car or train) with it's 6 miles of sandy beach and clifftop walks. RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton cliffs is 15 mins away by car, or you can walk from Bempton station.
Hunmanby station is on the branch line Scarborough to Hull which passes through Seamer, Filey, Bridlington, Driffield and Beverley with trains every hour or so from 7a.m. til 8p.m. (fewer on Sundays and in low season). Connections to main line at Seamer and Hull.
Golf, gym and a coarse fishing lake are in the village. So, whether you like a relaxing holiday or enjoy a more active one, The Old Waiting Rooms offers you plenty of opportunities.
