With Easter just around the corner, we've come up with a list of 11 fab places to explore this Easter time.
Easter frolics for all the family at Burton Agnes Hall
Throughout the Easter holidays, Burton Agnes Hall will be hosting a jolly feast of activities for families to enjoy.
From 6th – 22nd April, children are invited to take part in an Easter trail around the wonderful gardens and grounds of the Hall, solving clues while exploring the extensive gardens. Once the trail puzzle has been solved, every child will receive an Easter treat.
On Easter Sunday and Monday, children can hunt for little chocolate Easter eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny in the Hall’s woodland, and even meet the bunny himself!
Medieval Easter at the Royal Armouries
Keep the whole family entertained this Easter Holidays at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds with an action-packed programme of medieval-themed events and activities.
From the 30th March – 14th April the museum will be packed with activities for all ages, including medieval sword schools for little warriors, have-a-go archery, daily storytelling performances, and live combat demonstrations.
Have a Steampunk Easter at Eureka!
Eureka! in Halifax is bringing Steampunk and science together for a madcap, zigzag journey through the amazing world of science and technology this Easter holiday – on every day from Saturday 6th to Sunday 28th April!
Throughout the holidays, the Eureka! Steampunk Scientists will amaze visitors with their science demonstrations and visitors will get to experience a brand new Steampunk Science Show.
The Eureka! Tinkering Space will be open daily, with a range of maker activities and crafts for kids to have a go at.
Camp out this Easter
Escape the nest this Easter for a fun-filled camping breakaway at one of Camping and Caravanning Club's Yorkshire sites. Easter promises fresh spring blooms and long bright days - perfect for spending quality time in the great outdoors.
Flying Scotsman at Easter
Get on the footplate of Flying Scotsman and make your own paper version of the iconic green locomotive this Easter. All your favourite family activities, live demonstrations and explosive science shows return along with steam rides in South Yard at the National Railway Museum.
Wild at Easter
Join RSPB Old Moor Nature Reserve this Easter to get involved with the RSPB Wild Challenge. We've got lots of different hands on activities to discover, come along and explore nature, and craft items to help wildlife in your local space.
A Mad Hatter of an Easter Holiday
Head to Lotherton this Easter and get lost in the Wonderland Village, follow the white rabbit’s trail and get creative with kooky crafts. The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party will be taking place each Wednesday during April along with flamingo fun in the Nestbox Education Centre. Also lookout for the Easter Bunny for hopping games and challenges.
Wild Challenge at Easter
Calling all fun-loving families! Visit Bempton Cliffs this Easter and we promise to have something for everyone. Do the Puffin Trail, watch thousands of seabirds on the cliffs, or armed with your very own Discovery Backpack, see what mini-beasts you can find along our Scavenger Bug Hunt Trail.
We sell everything you need for a picnic so the fun can continue all day! And whilst you're here watch out for Mrs P, our friendly puffin mascot who loves to give out hugs. These activities count towards your Wild Challenge; a challenge created by Bempton Cliffs to allow visitors to connect with the natural world in brave new ways.
White Rabbit Trail at the Yorkshire Air Museum
To celebrate Easter and in memory of RAF Elvington Station Mascot ‘Nostradamus’, the Yorkshire Air Museum is running an Easter trail with a French twist.
This Easter when you visit, follow the white rabbit trail around the museum, answer the questions as you explore, then collect your own yummy white chocolate rabbit.
Easter at The Deep
There's plenty of fishy fun to keep your little ones entertained this Easter holidays (Saturday 30 March to Sunday 28 April).
Join The Deep’s special agents as they take a trip to our native coastline to find out what can be uncovered at the seaside. Help the CSI division discover who is the rockpool polluter in our fun-packed 'Who Dunnit' trail, lend a hand in the interactive presentation to find out who stole the shells and earn a CSI badge of your own.
See daily dive shows, penguin feeds, get up close in touch pool sessions, ride in the underwater lift and take part in family crafts too.
And the best bit is, we have these fantastic activities running for four weeks so you've got lots of time to 'bob' on down and see us.
Get cheesy this Easter at Wensleydale Creamery
The new spacious Demonstration Room at Wensleydale Creamery will not only give you the opportunity to experience the amazing cheese and butter making demonstrations, delivered by our Cheese Experts, but will also take you on a cheese-making journey from the 1100’s through to the current day.
