Break Out Your Adventurous Side in Yorkshire

Break Out Your Adventurous Side in Yorkshire

For outdoor enthusiasts, England’s largest county offers a land of possibilities. Whether you love camping by the coast, the city or the countryside - or a dash of all three - a Yorkshire camping break ticks all the right boxes for an active summer escape.

Famous for the Viking city of York, the gorgeous beaches of Scarborough, the sprawling North York Moors and of course its friendly welcome, Yorkshire is a wonderful county of contracts that’s sure to tempt you back, again and again.

In our book, the best way to experience Yorkshire’s natural beauty and heritage is a summer camping holiday. After a packed day of adventure, what could be better than dozing off under the stars and waking up to cheerful birdsong? At The Camping and Caravanning Club, we have 4 beautifully located campsites scattered across Yorkshire, each providing its own unique and memorable take on this gorgeous corner of England.

Here’s a taste of the action:

Boroughbridge - the perfect stopover

Sitting pretty between the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales, beautiful Boroughbridge is the perfect springboard for discovery. Tick off Fountains Abbey and Studely Royal Water Garden, Ripley Castle, Lightwater Valley Theme Park, and the much-loved local breweries of Hambleton Ales in Ripon and Black Sheep in Masham. Boroughbridge Club Site is well-appointed and surrounded by local trails, with a particular favourite being the riverside ramble from Roecliffe to Ripon.
