Tuesday 19th June - Lionel Richie
International superstar Lionel Richie will play Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Tuesday 19 June. Performing hits from his extensive and much-loved repertoire spanning decades, all the way from the Commodores to the present day, Lionel’s shows are world renowned for their party atmosphere. Fans will be able to enjoy timeless mega-hits and sing along to classics such as ‘Lady’, ‘Truly, ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’, ‘Say You Say Me’, ‘Hello’ and ‘All Night Long’.
Tickets for Lionel Richie at Scarborough OAT on Tuesday 19 June, priced from £45.00 go on sale at 10am Friday 2 February.
Thursday 21st June - The Script
Irish rock band The Script who this year scored their fourth Number 1 UK album – will play Europe’s largest open-air theatre on Thursday June 21st 2018. Since arriving on the scene in 2008, The Script have sold more than 29 million records and given us such global hits as We Cry, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, For The First Time, Hall Of Fame (featuring will.i.am) and Superheroes. Their 2017 album Freedom Child topped the UK Official Albums Chart and lead single Rain picked up phenomenal radio airplay. To date, the video for Rain has been viewed more than 26 million times. The Script – lead singer Danny O'Donoghue, guitarist Mark Sheehan and drummer Glen Power – are also one of the biggest live acts and have sold more than 1.4 million tickets for shows around the world.
Friday 22nd June - Gary Barlow
Gary Barlow is one of Britain’s most successful songwriters, having written 14 Number One singles, as well as being a six-time recipient of an Ivor Novello Award., This will be Gary’s first visit to Scarborough OAT – Europe’s largest open-air theatre – Gary last toured as a solo artist in 2014 to great acclaim from fans and critics alike, playing some of the biggest venues he had ever played including The O2 London, Birmingham LG Arena, Glasgow The SSE Hydro and Manchester Arena, Gary’s last solo record ‘Since I Saw You Last’ sold more than 600,000 copies.
Sunday 24th June - Nile Rodgers and CHIC
Legendary musician Nile Rodgers and his band CHIC will bring a night of dance, hip hop and rock to the Yorkshire coast this summer.
Sonic innovator and multiple Grammy Award winner Nile Rodgers transcends all styles of music across every generation with a body of work that’s garnered him inductions in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (2017) and the Songwriters Hall of Fame (2016). Nile’s work in the CHIC Organization and his productions for artists like David Bowie, Madonna and Diana Ross have sold over 300 million albums and 50 million singles worldwide while his innovative, trendsetting collaborations with Daft Punk, Avicci and Sigala reflect the vanguard of contemporary music.
Friday 29th June - Steps
Pop superstars Steps are heading to the Yorkshire coast in 2018 for a sensational night at Europe’s largest open-air theatre.
The Brit Award winning band are well and truly back after returning this year with their stunning new album Tears On The Dancefloor and a string of sold out arena shows. In a hit-packed career, Steps have scored 14 top 5 singles, sold more than 20 million records and reached Number One with three albums and three singles.
Saturday 30th June - Alfie Boe
Alfie Boe will headline what promises to be a magical night as Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre hosts a special Armed Forces Day concert on Saturday June 30th 2018. Alfie’s exceptional voice has cemented him as one of Britain’s biggest selling, most popular and best loved vocalists of his generation. A hugely successful recording artist, he has conquered the world’s greatest stages and arenas as the star of such legendary stage productions as Les Misérables and La Bohème – together with his own sell-out concert tours.
Thursday 5th July - Emeli Sandé
Brit Award winner and No.1 recording artist Emeli Sandé will play a not-to-be-missed show at Europe’s largest open-air theatre this summer. Emeli – whose global hits include ‘Read All About It’, ‘Next To Me’, ‘My Kind of Love’ and ‘Clown’ – will play Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Thursday July 5.
Her multi-platinum-selling debut album ‘Our Version of Events’ catapulted Emeli to worldwide acclaim, before her ‘Live At The Albert Hall’ album also topped the charts. In 2012, Emeli performed at both the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the London Olympics. She won two Brit Awards in 2013 for Best British Female Solo Artist and British Album of the Year.
Friday 6th July - Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
Get ready Yorkshire – Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are heading to Scarborough Open Air Theatre this summer. Fresh from the success of the No.1 album ‘Who Built the Moon?’ – and sold out tour dates around the world – Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will play Europe’s largest open air theatre on Friday July 6.
The gig sees a return to Scarborough OAT for Noel and his band who played a sell-out show at the venue in 2016 as part of the ‘Chasing Yesterday Tour’. ‘Who Built the Moon?’ – featuring the singles ‘It’s A Beautiful World’ and ‘Holy Mountain’ – is the third album from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and was released in November 2017 on Sour Mash Records.
Friday 20th July - Pete Tong
Legendary dance DJ Pete Tong with the Heritage Orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley will bring a taste of Ibiza to the Yorkshire coast this summer. Ibiza Classics is an audio and visual spectacle, showcasing some of the world’s best loved dance music in a way audiences have never heard or seen before. Pete Tong has been a household name for almost 30 years.
He rose to prominence as a Radio 1 DJ but over the years has become a dance industry icon celebrated for his knowledge of dance music while producing classic dance anthems for the masses. He first combined his love of dance music with a full orchestra at the BBC Proms in 2015 and since then Ibiza Classics has enjoyed sold-out success across UK arenas.
Saturday 21st July - IL DIVO
IL DIVO return to the UK in Summer 2018 with the stunning ‘Castles and Country Tour’. Il Divo are a global phenomenon achieving over 30 million album sales worldwide, more than 50 No.1 records, 160 Gold and Platinum sales awards and four ground-breaking world tours. The band’s sold-out Amor & Pasión dates in 2016 had critics praising their ability to “ignite hearts” (Brighton Argus) with their effortless charm and “magnificent vocals” (Belfast Live). Hits including “Regresa a mi (Unbreak My Heart)”, “The Time of Our Lives”, “Si voy a perderte (Don't wanna lose you)” and “I Believe in You (Je crois en toi)” are guaranteed to entrance and delight audiences.
Thursday 26th July - James Arthur
James Arthur is well and truly back, on top of his game and ready to play a headline gig at Scarborough Open Air Theatre this summer. The man behind such worldwide hits as ‘Impossible’ and ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ is bringing his stunning live show to Europe’s largest open-air theatre on Thursday July 26.
James is riding high following the huge success of his 2016 album 'Back From The Edge' which catapulted him back to the top of the charts and led to a string of sold-out live shows. It is just five years since the Middlesbrough-born singer/songwriter became an overnight star when he won ITV’s X Factor. His debut single 'Impossible' became a worldwide hit – selling more than three million copies and hitting No.1 in 50 countries.
Saturday 28th July - Bastille
The chart-topping and multi-award-winning band behind such anthems as 'Pompeii’, ‘Good Grief’, ‘Laura Palmer’ and ‘Things We Lost In The Fire’ will play Europe’s largest open-air theatre on Saturday July 28. The band’s chart-conquering debut album ‘Bad Blood’ sold more than four million copies alongside 11 million singles.
In the UK, the twice Number One album was certified double-platinum and earned Bastille the British Breakthrough award at the 2014 Brits, along with two Grammy nominations. The 2016 follow up ‘Wild World’ – spearheaded by single, ‘Good Grief’ – topped the UK album charts and hit Top 5 in the US. Featuring the singles ‘Send Them Off!’ ‘Blame’ and ‘Glory’ it was a hit with fans and critics alike and saw them scoop NME Album Of The Year.
Saturday 11th August - Texas
Chart topping rock band Texas will play a headline show at Scarborough Open Air Theatre this summer. The Scottish band – who have sold more than 40 million albums in a brilliant career that has spanned four decades – will play Europe’s largest open-air theatre on Saturday August 11. Led by vocalist Sharleen Spiteri and co-founder Johnny McElhone, Texas are riding high following the success of their ninth studio album ‘Jump on Board’.
The new songs sit brilliantly alongside the band’s massive hits that include ‘I Don't Want A Lover’, ‘Say What You Want’, ‘Halo’, ‘Summer Sun’. ‘Getaway’ and ‘Black Eyed Boy’.
Friday 17th August - Britney Spears
Legendary pop icon Britney Spears has announced her exclusive last time ever, limited tour of her award-winning and record-breaking show, “Britney: Piece of Me.” For the first and only time, “Britney: Piece of Me” will visit East Coast US and Europe for a very limited engagement for fans that were not able to see the show in Las Vegas.

Indie music legends James are to play a headline show at Scarborough Open Air Theatre this summer. The band behind such anthems as Sit Down, Born of Frustration, She’s A Star and Come Home bring their sensational live show to Europe’s largest open-air theatre. James – who have sold more than 25 million records worldwide – have released 14 studio albums over the past 30 years which have gained both critical and commercial acclaim.
The band’s most recent release, 2016’s Girl at the End of the World – which includes such stunning songs as Nothing But Love, Girl At The End Of The World and Dear John – hit No.2 in the UK Album charts and became their most successful album in almost 20 years. James's enduring creativity and musical legacy has made them one of the most influential British indie bands of the last four decades. After signing to Factory Records in 1982, they went on to release a series of massive hit singles and built a huge, loyal and fanatical fanbase.
