Head to the Jorvik Viking Centre and hop aboard the improved ride experience and you’ll be transported back to the year AD960; Eric Bloodaxe, the last Viking King in Jorvik, has been expelled and the city is transforming itself. You will discover the impact of international trade on Viking-Age York, including the evolution of a multi-cultural society in the city, as it’s not just trade goods that flowed into Jorvik but people from across the globe!
JORVIK’s gallery experiences have been completely updated, with new display cases allowing you to get up close to these precious, Viking artefacts. You will have the chance to dig deeper into the Viking story of York using the latest in cutting-edge technology located throughout the centre.
Summit Indoor Adventure in Selby is full of fun-filled activities suitable for all ages including: climbing, skiing, aerial trek, ten pin bowling, soft play, skate and BMX.

After a 2 year absence, Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s hugely popular “Safari Nights” are back! Running every Saturday in August, the events offer extended opening hours, providing a unique opportunity to see some of the world’s rarest and most at risk animals after hours, while enjoying top live entertainment as well as a family-friendly fireworks finale.
Visitors can make the most of the summer sunshine, with last entry at 7pm, animal walk-throughs and play areas are open until 8pm, and on the concert-field the evening’s entertainment continues until just after 9pm.
YWP gives a unique walk through experience bringing them almost face to face with some of the world’s most rare animals, including Amur Leopards, Giraffes, Painted Hunting Dogs along with Lions, Lemurs and Meerkats.

You can scale the 47ft, Utah-inspired rock climbing tower and be suspended above the Centre's main atrium on the Skyride or you could head to Gravity, Xscape Yorkshire's latest addition, featuring wall-to-wall trampolines and even a foam pit - great for exercising, or just bouncing around and having fun!
Other activities include crazy golf, tenpin bowling, Laserzone or a trip to the cinema to see one of the latest blockbusters. Basically, whatever you fancy doing, Xscape has you covered!
