Visitors to Harrogate Spring Flower Show can expect to find a real flair for fashion in 2017.
Celebrating the theme, HortCouture, a series of new attractions across the spring show will pay tribute to style trends in the home, the garden and even the wardrobe.
The event will host an exclusive exhibition by award-winning Christchurch costumier and artist Jenny Gillies, who combines her love of gardens and flowers to create a truly fabulous range of floral gowns.
Fourteen wonderful works of art will be featured in Jenny’s first exhibition outside Australia and New Zealand, including iris, orchid, dahlia, peony, poppy, rose, lily, sunflower, spring blossom and primula.
Also new for 2017 is The Green Room, a space designed to turn style concepts inside out with living furnishings such as flower-filled cushions, mossy armchairs and cutting-edge fresh flower wallpaper.
In tribute to the trailblazers of modern haute couture, this year’s fantastic large scale floral art display will also focus on four of the world’s most famous houses of fashion – Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Versace and Vivienne Westwood.
The spring show features Britain’s biggest exhibition of floral art and, as part of the HortCouture theme, teams from four NAFAS areas will offer their own unique interpretation on the work of each fashion icon.
Meanwhile floristry students from across the country will focus their skills on creating Floral Bonnets with a difference as they get to grips with displays made from real cars!
