This category is aimed at businesses that offer the best of Yorkshire dining and food with a focus on locally sourced produce. All entries must include a high quality dining experience and entries must demonstrate creativity in their menu with emphasis on local produce, and consistent quality in the delivery and presentation of food.
1884 Wine & Tapas Bar
1884 Wine and Tapas Bar delivers something different and has made an instant impact with the promise of simple, local produce with a tapas twist, washed down with hard-to-find wines and Spanish beers. The restaurant occupies a prime waterside location in the heart of Hull’s cultural quarter and plays a pivotal role in supporting the region’s tourism offering, pioneering the redevelopment of the Marina. Many of the people who visit 1884 Wine and Tapas have travelled further than the food on their plates!
The family run, Indian vegetarian restaurant, Prashad, is based in Drighlington. At Prashad the mantra is ‘cooking with love’ and they focus on delivering real Indian culinary excellence matched with knowledgeable, warm and intuitive service. Prashad was set up by Kaushy and Mohan Patel with a view to showcasing the very best cuisine from India, their recipes have been handed down through generations.
The Coach House at Middleton Lodge
The menu at The Coach House restaurant, created by Gareth Rayner, inspired by the Yorkshire countryside takes a rustic approach to well-loved British dishes, using the very best locally sourced produce. The cocktail bar complete with a top flight team of mixologists, cool sounds and a laid back, brick-walled, atmosphere. It’s the coolest way to end the night.
The Hare Restaurant
The 13th century Hare Restaurant nestled in the glorious North Yorkshire Moors is run by Head Chef Paul Jackson and his team. They create and prepare beautiful food from seasonally available local produce, the use of modern techniques and creativity produces some really stunning dishes, giving you an exceptional fine dining experience in and relaxed and intimate setting.
The Star Inn The City
The Star Inn The City opened in 2013, taking inspiration from Andrew Pern’s The Star Inn at Harome, but with the aim of creating a Brasserie-style Star Inn for the City serving ‘simple Yorkshire cooking with a taste of the countryside’. Open for breakfast through to dinner, The Star Inn The City is the ideal place to meet at any time of day to enjoy casual Brasserie-style dining.
The Westwood Restaurant
