With less than a fortnight to go, excitement is building for one of Yorkshire's most vibrant summer events at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. Set to take place on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July, this annual celebration will transport visitors back to the 1980s, featuring steam trains, popular music from the era, and a whole lot of fun.

Weekend Highlights

The 1980s Weekend is a unique opportunity for families and friends to dive into the nostalgia of the decade. From live tribute bands to retro entertainment, the event promises to be a memorable experience for all ages. Visitors are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the '80s by wearing their best outfits—think legwarmers, shell suits, denim jackets, and pork pie hats.

This themed weekend will include:

  • Day Clubbers Party on Saturday, featuring the popular tribute act That 80's Thing, performing hits from legendary artists like Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, a-ha, Erasure, ABC, Culture Club, and many more.

  • Two Tone Spectacular on Sunday at the Exhibition Shed in Oxenhope, showcasing one of the UK's leading Madness tribute bands. Fans can sing along to classics like Our House and Baggy Trousers, alongside tracks from The Specials and Bad Manners.

Heritage Train Rides

Throughout the weekend, visitors can hop on heritage steam and diesel trains that run between Keighley and Oxenhope. This journey not only offers a chance to experience the thrill of vintage trains but also allows passengers to enjoy the stunning scenery of the Worth Valley. It's a perfect way to make the most of a summer weekend while soaking in the beautiful landscapes that inspired the Brontë sisters.
