One of our favourite hikes in Yorkshire. It's slightly challenging but our 5 year old can do it - although she is hardy. There is rugged terrain and lots of cow dung to avoid, but well worth it once you get there. The actual hike is beautiful itself. I think it took us about 45 minutes to do the hike from the parking area near the closest road.

Lovely cave to see, though you can't get far inside as it's got a barrier. It's a short uphill walk up to the cave from the footpath on a mud/stone path.

We got the train to Settle then began a lovely long walk to the caves which were great and would definitely go again. All you need is a car or the train.

What an amazing place. Me,my wife and our dogs were on a breakaway and went on a few walks and when we came across this walk up to the Victoria cave,it blew me and my wife Karen away. The views are spectacular, even with 4-5inches of snow, made it a little harder to climb to the top but the views and wild life alone on the way up,was amazing and the fly over from a tornado jet, just put the cherry on it. AMAZING place

Further exploration is requested by a polite sign to not venture past, due to fragility of formations. If. You've travelled a long way to see the cave, it may be a disappointment without going round the barrier. Expect wet, muddy and potentially very slippy Limestone. There are no grandiose formations, so unless your the adventurous type, you won't feel let down. *SPOILER ALERT* please don't look at all the pictures if you have more than a passing interest... See it for your self in your own perception 👍 Unfortunately further into the cave system there is littering... Some of it very old, some of it more recent. People... It weighed little enough for you to carry it into the Dales... It would have been far lighter to carry it back with you. PLEASE DO NOT LITTER. S
