Three of us ordered the steak and ale pies for lunch. One of the pies was completely burnt on top and the bottom of it was so hard neither a knife or fork could cut through it. One of the other pies wasn't much better and had a hair in it. The third seemed marginally ok. The quality of the meat was poor (hard and dry) and comparable to the texture of dog food. Whilst the pies were overcooked after what I assumed was due to being reheated multiple times, the peas were hard and had a strange taste. The chips were ok and the gravy was nice and thick although lumpy. The condiments on offer are cheap quality and the table was very sticky. We were given a refund for 2 of the pies but we won't be returning. The refund, the fire, and quick serving time are the only positives.

Hygiene is questionable at best. Today I found peas and mushed food at the bottom of my tea cup, that can only have come from a dirty tea pot! When raised with the staff, there was little empathy or consideration to how disgusting this is. A customer should not have to ask for this to be refunded - it should be offered! Accidents can happen, but the way the bar woman dealt with the issue was unacceptable. A cleaning review and a focus on customer service is definitely needed in this place!

We called in for lunch as some of reviews and pictures posted sound and look absolutely delicious , but sadly there was a wake taking place and the kitchen was closed but we will definitely return and enjoy the food on our next visit. So , the lady behind the bar was friendly , our Guinness poured well and price ok. I'm sure it'll be five 🌟 across the piece next time.

We just called in for a drink before having a look round the local shops. A fairly spacious, family friendly pub, it's dog friendly as well. There is a small car park outside and a larger carpark opposite with an honesty box for payment.
