On the 6th and 27th of August, the dedicated team from The Deep will return to Sewerby Hall, bringing an array of activities tailored to the summer season. Visitors can enjoy beachcombing, creating marine-themed artwork, and learning about the diverse ecology found along the Yorkshire coastline.


Discover the Secrets of Rockpools with Seaside Safaris
One of the highlights of this summer’s programme is the ‘Seaside Safari’ sessions. Held twice daily from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm, these sessions allow participants to explore the rockpools at Sewerby beach. The Deep’s knowledgeable crew will guide visitors through the intricate ecosystems, offering insights into the fascinating creatures that call these rockpools home. These sessions are suitable for all ages, providing a fun and educational experience for families and nature enthusiasts alike.
Engaging Activities at Sewerby Hall’s Orangery
In addition to the beach activities, Sewerby Hall’s Orangery will host a variety of summer activities from 11 am to 3 pm each day. These activities include:
- Artefact Handling: Get hands-on with marine artefacts and learn about their significance.
- Rockpool Species Investigation: Use an ID sheet to identify different species found in rockpools.
- Interactive Games: Participate in fun, educational games that highlight the importance of marine conservation.
