Looking for free, family-friendly fun this Easter? You’re in luck! Wakefield Council is throwing a two-week Easter Egg-stravaganza from 5–19 April 2025 across all six of its local markets. And the best part? It’s all completely free.

Whether you’re into egg hunts, crafts, dancing, or even bike repair, there’s something for everyone. And yes, the Easter Bunny will be hopping around to hand out chocolate treats, making it a must-do for kids (and, let’s be real, chocolate-loving adults).

What’s On And Where

The Easter Egg-stravaganza is packed with activities designed to bring fun and life to the markets. As Cllr Michael Graham, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Growth, put it:

“We’re delighted to bring this exciting programme of Easter activities to our local markets. These events help breathe new life into our town centres, making them more than just shopping destinations – they are places where communities come together, and culture thrives. This is a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy free entertainment and create lasting memories. We encourage everyone to join in the fun and experience everything our vibrant markets have to offer.”

So, what exactly is happening? Here’s a quick rundown:
