What’s so special about “Dragons”?

You know how dragons in Asian culture represent strength, joy, and transformation? Well, that’s the heartbeat of this show. Ahn’s high-energy choreography, mixed with trippy holograms, vibrant projections, and stunning costumes, creates a dance spectacle like no other. Think of it as a visual fever dream where tradition meets the future, all wrapped in a soundtrack that blends traditional Korean music with pulsating electronic beats.

A celebration of Gen-Z energy

Here’s something cool—Ahn doesn’t just perform with her incredible company of dancers. She also includes holographic guest performers—five young dancers, four of whom were born in the Year of the Dragon (2000). Through their movements and stories, the show explores how the past and future can exist together, highlighting the bold, ever-changing nature of Gen-Z.

The creative minds behind the show

Ahn’s signature style is fearless, colourful, and boundary-pushing. She has a history of challenging expectations—whether through her bold feminist views, her shaved head (a rebellious statement in Korea), or her unique way of blending dance styles.

The performance space itself is just as unique. Expect a dream-like landscape of swirling silver vacuum hoses, forests, and cloudy skies—all thanks to the breathtaking visual designs of Taeseok Lee. And let’s not forget the soundtrack by Jang Young-Gyu, a composer who fuses traditional Korean sounds with modern pop and electronic music.
