In celebration of Yorkshire Day, Spirit of Yorkshire, the first single malt whisky distillery in Yorkshire, has unveiled a special release. The Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2024 Special Release marks the fifth annual bottling designed to honour this notable day.

Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2024
Joe Clark, Whisky Director at Spirit of Yorkshire, describes this year’s release as a masterpiece of layered flavours.
“This year, it’s all about layers,” Clark explains. “We’ve delicately married together four different cask types. Shaved, toasted and re-charred ex-red wine casks form a fruity base that is soft and elegant. Ex-Madeira casks introduce waves of peaches and cream mid-palate, while ex-Sherry and ex-New Oak casks contribute richness, complexity, and balance. The result is a fruity and complex whisky, featuring flavours of wine gums, brioche, stone fruit, and baking spices.”
Limited Edition with a Distinct Presentation
The Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2024, bottled at 55% ABV, is presented in a bespoke embossed bottle. This edition includes a new cut-away carton, highlighting the whisky’s unique character and the distillery’s story. Priced at £95, this exclusive release is available directly from the distillery shop, online at spiritofyorkshire.com, and in select specialist whisky bars where it can be enjoyed by the dram.
A Rare Offering
With only 1,500 bottles produced, the Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2024 Special Release is one of Spirit of Yorkshire’s rarest whiskies. “It’s highly likely that it will sell out quickly,” Clark notes, emphasizing the limited availability.
A True Field-to-Bottle Distillery
Spirit of Yorkshire stands out as a true field-to-bottle distillery, using 100% homegrown barley for its single malt whisky. This dedication to quality and local sourcing ensures a unique and authentic product, available throughout the UK and increasingly in international markets.
