This summer, Harrogate International Festivals is bringing a weekend of family-friendly excitement with the Children’s Festival. To be held on July 6 and 7, the festival promises a vibrant mix of science, storytelling, drumming, and dancing, all set in the enchanting Spiegeltent.
The festival kicks off with the interactive Sublime Science workshop, where kids can marvel at “magic” tricks and thrilling experiments. Later, the energetic vibes continue with a Bhangra dancing workshop by Punjabi Roots, known for their electrifying performance at last year’s Carnival.
For those intrigued by rhythm, a Dhol drumming session led by Punjabi Roots Academy offers a hands-on experience with traditional Indian drums.
Storytelling takes a sensory twist as author and illustrator Liam Callaghan immerses children in a tale about mysterious neighbors. Meanwhile, Hoglet’s Theatre presents ‘A Midsummer Night’s Mischief,’ a playful adaptation of Shakespeare with wild characters, singalongs, and puppetry.
The festival’s highlight, the family silent disco, returns on Sunday afternoon, inviting all ages to dance to top tunes on the Spiegeltent’s charming wooden floor.
