Following a triumphant event in 2023, Hull is set to once again host INTERKULTUR’s prestigious International Choir Competition in 2025. This large-scale event will return in May and is expected to attract over 1,000 participants from choirs around the globe.

A Glimpse at the Upcoming Event
The competition will span five days, featuring an opening and closing ceremony, multiple choir competitions, pop-up concerts, and individual coaching sessions. This event highlights Hull’s growing reputation as a cultural hub, building on the success of the previous competition.
Economic and Cultural Impact
Cllr Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture, expressed his excitement about securing the event for 2025.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have secured the International Choir Competition again for 2025,”
he said.
“2023’s event resulted in an economic impact of around £1.9 million, with audiences of over 7,500 and 560 local choir participants bringing areas to life with live singing over five days.”

INTERKULTUR President Günter Titsch echoed this enthusiasm.
“After the resounding success of our first edition in 2023, I’m delighted that we have the fantastic opportunity to return to your wonderful city next year,”
Titsch said.
“The inaugural event brought together 1,200 singers for an exciting experience, and with the excellent cooperation of our partners, I’m confident that the second edition will be even more remarkable.”
