FC Halifax Town has officially added midfielder Owen Bray to their roster following his release from League Two side Barrow AFC. Bray’s journey to The Shaymen has been marked by a determined progression through the football ranks, showcasing his potential and resilience.
Bray, who began his career in the Leeds United academy, made steady progress through the youth system. His development at Leeds was highlighted by an appearance for the under-23 team in the EFL Trophy in 2020. Despite his promising start, Bray’s journey at Leeds ended in 2022 when his contract was not renewed, despite a solid number of appearances for the under-18 side during the previous season.
Professional Contract
In July 2023, Bray took a significant step forward by signing a professional contract with Barrow’s b-team. His hard work and dedication paid off when he earned his first start for the Barrow first team in November of the same year. However, as the season concluded, Bray was among 10 players released by the Bluebirds as part of their squad restructuring.
The midfielder’s move to FC Halifax Town follows a successful trial, during which he impressed the coaching staff with his skill set and work ethic.
