FC Halifax Town has bolstered their squad with the acquisition of promising goalkeeper Nathaniel Ford, following his departure from League One club Rotherham United.
Ford, who has spent his entire footballing journey at Rotherham United, started his career with the Millers’ academy as a youngster. Demonstrating consistent talent and dedication, he advanced through the youth ranks, eventually earning a professional contract in April 2023.
Ford’s Success
His time with Rotherham’s under-18 squad was marked by notable achievements, including a key role in the team’s runner-up finish in the Youth Alliance Cup in 2023. Ford’s standout moment came during the semi-final match against Mansfield Town’s under-18s, where he made a crucial penalty save, showcasing his potential and composure under pressure.
Throughout his tenure with Rotherham, Ford was also involved with the first-team setup, training regularly alongside senior players. Despite his progress, Ford’s contract with Rotherham was not renewed at the end of the 2023/24 season. However, after impressing during a trial period with FC Halifax Town, the young keeper has now secured a new opportunity to continue his development in senior football.
