York City has confirmed that Levi Andoh, their 24-year-old Dutch defender, has joined Darlington on a one-month loan. This move comes as Andoh continues his recovery from a significant injury, which has sidelined him for much of the current season.

A crucial step in Andoh’s recovery
The loan to Darlington, managed by Steve Watson, offers Andoh an opportunity to gain vital match experience as he works towards full fitness. Having made four appearances at the beginning of the 2023/24 Vanarama National League season, Andoh’s progress was halted by injury. The defender is eager to get back on the pitch, and this short-term loan deal provides him with the chance to do so.
Darlington’s current form
Darlington, competing in the National League North, will benefit from Andoh’s presence as they seek to improve their early-season form. Watson’s side began the campaign with a narrow 2-1 defeat against Kidderminster and followed it up with a 2-2 draw away at Oxford City. Their next fixture sees them travel to face Buxton on Tuesday, August 20th, with a 7.45pm kick-off.
What’s next
The loan move is subject to the necessary approvals from the league and the FA. As Andoh integrates into the Darlington squad, both clubs will be hoping that the Dutchman’s presence on the field will bolster Darlington’s defensive options.
Good luck, Levi!
