Captured by Paul Schofield, the image titled “The Twilight Strand” features a maned wolf emerging from behind trees into the winter evening light, earning him the Mammal Category award in BIAZA’s annual photography contest.

Paul Schofield’s award-winning photo depicts a maned wolf, known for its distinctive red fur and intense gaze, as it ventures through the park’s Atlantic Forest. This captivating shot was one among over 400 entries across six categories, highlighting animals from the 133 member zoos and aquariums of BIAZA (British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums). The winning photograph will also be showcased in BIAZA’s 2025 calendar, emphasizing the beauty and diversity of wildlife.
