Wold Escapes, a scenic glamping site located near Southburn, just four miles from Driffield, has once again earned its place as a finalist in the Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards (REYTAs).
This marks the third consecutive year the site has been shortlisted for the ‘Remarkable Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year’ category, a prestigious recognition of their dedication to high-quality tourism experiences.
A glamping retreat in the Yorkshire Wolds
Wold Escapes has quickly become a favourite for visitors, thanks to its peaceful setting in the Yorkshire Wolds. The site offers glamping cabins that provide an idyllic retreat for guests. Since their opening in 2020, the cabins have been well-loved by both locals and travellers from farther afield. Each cabin offers a private setting with luxurious amenities such as a hot tub overlooking stunning views, as well as a double bed, kitchen, and ensuite bathroom.
The site is not just about glamping; it also houses the Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School, further enhancing the guest experience with culinary workshops and classes.
Sustainability efforts and recent developments
This year has seen significant developments at Wold Escapes. According to Georgina Renfrew, the Household Manager at Wold Escapes, the team has worked hard on expanding the site with two new glamping cabins. In addition, the site has taken strides towards sustainability by investing in solar panels and air-source heat pumps to provide eco-friendly heating solutions for the cabins and hot tubs. These efforts highlight the site’s commitment to offering luxury with an environmental conscience.
Renfrew expressed her excitement, stating, “We were thrilled to get the news that we had made it through to the finals of the REYTAs yet again! There are some great businesses here in East Yorkshire, so to be in the top five is just brilliant.”
Celebrating East Yorkshire tourism
The REYTA Awards are organised by Visit Hull and East Yorkshire and are dedicated to promoting tourism in the region. These awards shine a spotlight on local businesses that contribute to the thriving visitor economy. The winners of this year’s awards will be announced at an awards ceremony on 14th November, held at Bridlington Spa.
Wold Escapes will be hoping to take home the title as they continue to offer guests an unforgettable stay amidst the natural beauty of the Yorkshire Wolds.
