If you love good food and a buzzing city vibe, you’ve probably heard of York Restaurant Week. And if you haven’t, well, you’re missing out! The latest edition, which ran from 10th to 23rd March 2025, has set some serious records, making it the biggest and best yet.

More Restaurants, More Deals, More Fun!
This special two-week edition saw a whopping 124 local businesses joining the fun, putting forward an amazing 255 exclusive food and drink deals. Whether you were craving posh dining or a cosy café experience, there was something for everyone.
It’s not just the locals who got excited—32,679 vouchers were downloaded during the event, which is a massive 45% increase compared to the October 2024 edition. Clearly, people were hungry for more than just good food.
Boosting York’s Economy Big Time
With so many people tucking into delicious meals, the economic impact was bound to be huge. The March 2025 campaign brought in a staggering £579,770, marking a 46% jump from the last event. To put things in perspective, the total impact of all 11 events held so far is now over £2.4 million. That’s a lot of happy tummies and happy business owners!
The online buzz was just as impressive, with over 47,000 unique visitors checking out the website during the two-week campaign. Clearly, word’s getting around.
Why Locals And Restaurants Love It
Chris Bush, York BID Business Manager and event coordinator, couldn’t have been more thrilled. He said,
“We are absolutely thrilled with the success of this spring’s edition of York Restaurant Week. The figures speak for themselves – not only have we seen more venues and offers than ever before, but the engagement from the public has been phenomenal. It’s a testament to the strength and resilience of York’s hospitality industry and the appetite from residents and visitors to support and enjoy local dining.”
Local businesses are just as excited. Emily Crampton, Manager at Ate O’Clock, explained why they take part every time:
“We take part in every York Restaurant Week for a few reasons, one being the fabulous marketing it brings our business via York BID channels. However, the main reason is that, whilst our menus are always described as great value for money, we get to offer our loyal return guests an even more affordable meal out whilst showcasing our menu to a whole audience who may have not tried our restaurant before. With so many places to visit in York, we feel as if York Restaurant Week allows guests to get a little braver in trying new places. With so many people saying they will be back – the results speak for themselves, and we will definitely sign up again.”
What’s Next For York Restaurant Week?
Organised by the York Business Improvement District (York BID), this event is all about boosting the city’s amazing food scene and keeping footfall strong throughout the city centre. And the best news? It’s coming back in October 2025!
So, if you missed out this time, mark your calendar. Whether you’re a York local or just visiting, this is the perfect excuse to try something new and support amazing independent businesses. And let’s be real—who can say no to good food at great prices?
