Bettys Café Tea Rooms Northallerton

What a lovely setting, but you do pay for quality, so be warned. We stopped for lunch. I had the betty burger and my wife had the haddock, salmon and prawn gratin. Washed down with a tea and a coffee. It was all delicious, well presented and the staff where very friendly, smart and attentive. However, this lunch was just over £49, so a treat that’s not for every day!! The cakes and chocolate in the shop also looked fantastic, but we didn’t buy anything from the shop.

After a small gathering for our wedding we chose this lovely little abode for our wedding afternoon tea. The staff where just so friendly and kind and welcomed us with big smiles and this was whilst there was a waiting time and lots of peiple huffing and whinging like spoilt little brats and some of them I would say in their 60s and 70s it was actually disgusting as the staff team tried their best to make everyone happy. This was on a Monday lunchtime no less. I cant thank the beautiful team enough for what was a wonderful and happy experience 😊 I highly recommend a visit and yes you may need to wait for a table well that's because its popular and for good reason. We where given 2 large chocolate bettys gold coins as a wedding gift and wont eat them as we want to keep them forever for memories sake ❤️ Thanks again for a beautiful memory 😘 ❤️

I visited with 7 friends for a Christmas treat and honeslty could not fault the service or food. The venue is beautiful and you are completely transported into an afternoon tea fantasy. Bettys provides old school service and if you are an afternoon tea officienado this is the place for you. Exceptional quality teas, served, with hot water, they way it should be. The afternoon tea was fantastic and just enough sweet and savoury although as not heavy sugar consumers it got to us in the end and we could not finish it. Service was utterly brillant and the ladies who looked after us had such a wonderful personalities. It really is somewhere you should go if you are in the area.

We had a lovely visit to Betty's. We were welcomed at the door and only had to wait a few minutes while they got a table ready. The staff were friendly and welcoming. And helpful when unsure of what tea to order! The tea room is wonderful and calm, and it feels inviting and warm. And the scones were still warm when they arrived at our table!

Would have been five stars except the chips were raw and they didn't take off my bill when i sent back, (although they did offer to get me new ones, I didn't want them). I was in a bit of a rush and they noticed that and gave really good fast service... I don't know how they make the toast so delicious but it was beautiful! And the cakes are obviously amazing.
