Family Fun

Family fun

Reeth Community Orchard provides the ideal setting for both adults and children alike; explore the well maintained gardens with rows of colourful perennials, or regroup on one of the park’s benches as the kids let off some steam and play on the grassed areas. There’s also Reeth playground on Back Lane which has undergone a recent refurbishment, and the famous Swing Bridge which was rebuilt in 2002 and crosses the River Swale.

Bike Adventures

This part of the world is amazing for cycling. Don’t just take our word for it though as the organisers behind the biggest bike race in the world, the Tour de France, chose to take their race through here! If you’re thinking of having a go, then look no further than the frankly splendid Dales Bike Centre. It is the absolute must be first stop for riding mountain bikes and road cycles in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Accommodation, Café, bike shop and workshop, bike hire and a wealth of advice for those visiting the Dales. So make a day of it, make a night of it, make a holiday of it. Nowhere does biking better than this!

Neighbouring activities

More family fun is just around the corner in Swaledale, with a variety of different activities just a short drive away. Head northwest of Healaugh to visit the Old Gang Mine and water-splash ford, made famous by the opening credits of TV series ‘All Creatures Great and Small.’ Finally, venture slightly further afield and you’ll find The Forbidden Corner, (a Tripadvisor top rated maze), just a 30 minute drive away.
