My experience wasn’t great to be honest. There’s three charging cables but you can only charge two cars at once. Parking bay number one is tiny when compared to number two. The charging station’s screen and my app said the car was being charged but when I returned after an hour no charge had been added so I had to go through it all again and this time I decided to sit with my car and watch it charge. I might use it again and give it another go when I next visit Whitby but some improvement is required.
There are three bays but just two parking spaces. It is impossible to use the third one. Why not place them between parking spaces instead of at the end? Like basically everywhere else. Every car and app always displays one free, but it is not usable.
Charged my car from 44% to 100% as we were staying near Filey and there seem to be 0 chargers nearby! Inconvenient location - it is in the middle of a busy car park in the middle of the coop, charger 2 space is enormous, charger 1 space is tiny (we used this one). Only just fit my car in and had to climb out the passenger side which was difficult to get back in when another car parked next to mine on return. Do not trust the coop car park/timings/InstaVolt timings. You can ONLY park for 60 mins total in the charging spaces. It charged my car (74 plate Skoda Enyaq 85x sportline - I think this makes a difference as a guy in a in Vauxhall cost more for less miles!!) 40 mins total time. It added 200 ish miles onto my car, it did however, cost £40 for the privilege 🫠 very very expensive and I had to walk back and move the car after 60 mins anyway to avoid a fine. Charger 2 has 2 cables but you can’t park next to bay 2 as the charger doesn’t reach do makes absolutely no sense. I had to explain to 2 people queueing up after me to use the chargers, how to use them. Again, people staying on the east coast and no nearby chargers so they had to wait for us to finish. Pros - quick, easy to use Cons - cost, tiny space (bay 1), only 2 chargers and a queue to use, time limit.
Exactly same issue as other reviewers, set up charge with motorbility go, which told me it was rapid charging, when we got back to car hour later after popping into coop and getting coffee, it had charged me £6+ and charged exactly 6 miles!!!! This was despite motorbility go app stating it was still charging!!! Complete waste time. Then we had to move car out carpark due parking restriction of 1 hour. As disabled driver this was nightmare, save yourself time and effort, go elsewhere!
The sign says if charging 60 mins free parking however the company managing the car park insist it is only 15 mins. As with other users the charger only reached 60KW even though nobody else was using the other charger.
