Flamingo Bay

What a pleasure! We’ve been coming for Scarborough for years, and somehow have never nipped in the cafe! Today we did and being a sea gull hater it was perfect! It was lovely to enjoy an ice cream without ducking from seagulls! The staff were absolutely fantastic! The land lady was so lovely too! She brought our dogs free ice cream as we was a big party spending a decent amount! I was so happy with this as i was more than happy to pay for these! She chatted to us for a while and was so nice! We will definitely be back! Superb, tasty ice cream, and great service!! x

Really nice ice cream parlour that also offers other options such as waffles, pancakes, toasties etc. We come here for our ice cream whenever we come to Scarborough (around once a year!) I have given a 4 star rating as although the decor is beautiful and the staff are friendly, the chairs could do with some work as they are very uncomfortable to sit on for any longer than 5 minutes. Some of the tables and chairs are also very crowded and close together and it felt claustrophobic and cramped, not a very relaxing atmosphere. The biggest area of improvement is the ice cream flavours. I had a scoop of cream egg ice cream, it had tiny flakes of chocolate in that you can hardly see but it just tasted like normal vanilla ice cream. My partner also had 3 scoops of ice cream and the crunchie one just tasted like average chocolate ice cream. No crunchy bits and no different flavour. Out of the 4 different flavours we had between us, only 1 of them tasted like what they were being advertised as (the kinder bueno one) which was disappointing as it felt like false advertising and I would have got another flavour if they didn't taste any different.

A nice little seaside cafe. It blurs into the cluster of the south bay amusements, ice cream hatches, and coffee shops on the main drag, but if you find it you'll discover pleasant unassuming service and cute little tables and chairs. Standard menu of hot drinks, along with a nice range of fresh cakes and sweet treats, toasties and fresh sandwiches. While enjoying my americano and relaxing from the crowds outside in a soft coffee shop hubbub, it was then I noticed the freshly potted plants, and dried flowers in the multi coloured tins which lined the wall and prompted this review. Thank you for the good service, nice coffee and somewhere I felt I could take fifteen minutes and breathe.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Since my son has multiple food allergies, we always have to bring a packed lunch and warm it up, no matter where we eat. Unfortunately, the Fish and Chips restaurant turned down our small request. Thankfully, when we went into Flamingo Bay, the staff kindly let us warm my little 3-year-old’s food in their microwave. We truly need more people and places like them – caring, understanding, and willing to help

Lovely cafe to sit in or take away, the waffles & ice creams are good value and big enough to share. Nice coffee and cake, great service and facilities. Would definitely recommend for a family treat.
