|Ever seen something you just can't explain? A strange light zipping across the night sky, or a shadow in the corner of your eye that vanishes when you turn to look? It’s the kind of stuff that fuels the best science fiction stories. But what if you could blur the lines between fiction and reality? For anyone with an open mind, Sci-Fi Scarborough is preparing something truly special for 2026. After twelve years in the making, a new experience is coming that promises to be one of the most exciting additions since the event began. It's time to question everything.
Welcome to the Evidence Room
Get ready for The Evidence Room. This isn't just another panel or a stall selling merchandise; it’s a brand-new, mind-blowing area where things get real. It’s a space designed for people to discuss, question, and listen to some of the most incredible and baffling accounts of unexplained phenomena. Think UFO sightings, mysterious creatures, and ghostly encounters. The aim is to create a place where curiosity is king and you can hear stories that might just change the way you see the world. This is a massive new feature for SFS, blurring the lines between sci-fi and the genuinely strange things that happen right here on our doorstep. The team behind it is bringing together some of the most experienced investigators in the business to share what they’ve found.
Meet the lead investigator, Paul Sinclair

Leading the charge into the unknown is Paul Sinclair, a writer, researcher, and dedicated investigator of all things mysterious. This isn't just a hobby for him; a lifelong interest sparked by his own childhood experiences has led him to spend years documenting everything from UFOs to encounters with strange beasts. He’s not one to focus on a single subject, either. Paul takes a broad, open-minded approach, believing that many of these unexplained events might be connected in ways people don't yet understand. He’s basically a real-life Fox Mulder, but from Yorkshire.
Many will know him from his popular YouTube channel, Truth Proof, where he shares his investigations and witness stories. But his work has taken him all over the globe, speaking at conferences and appearing on radio shows. He’s also the author of five books in the Truth Proof series, where he mixes field research with firsthand accounts. If that wasn't enough, he co-produced the documentary Wolf Lands and has appeared on TV shows like the world-famous Ancient Aliens. Paul will be at SFS to share his incredible knowledge, and he’ll even have his books for sale, ready to sign one for the fans.
A team of truth-seekers
Paul isn’t coming alone. Joining him is a team of fascinating individuals, each bringing a different flavour to The Evidence Room.
Ian “Linny” Linford
As Paul Sinclair's right-hand man and a key member of the Truth Proof research team, Ian brings a grounded, no-nonsense perspective to the world of the weird. He’s a straight-talking Yorkshireman who has had his own unexplained experiences since he was a kid. These encounters have fuelled his curiosity, and he now actively researches anomalous events, often appearing on the Truth Proof live show to share his findings.
James Koppert

Adding a paranormal flavour to the mix is local ghost hunter and public speaker, James Koppert. He’s the host of the award-winning Fortean News Podcast and the Confessions of a Ghostboy channel, where his videos have racked up over half a million views. Known for his solo investigations in some of the most haunted places imaginable, James is a real-life ghostbuster. He lectures on "High Strangeness" around the world and has been described as everything from "the paranormal philosopher" to "an actual alien" himself.
The Evidence Room team will also be taking part in a special live panel in the theatre on both days of the event. Please note, this panel has a 16+ age rating.
Keeping the conversation flowing
With so many mind-bending topics on the table, you need the right hosts to steer the ship. That’s where Two Guys, What’s Up? come in. This weekly comedy podcast is hosted by Iain and Jordan, two friends who blend paranormal tales with a healthy dose of internet madness and humour. Each week, Iain shares a reportedly true story about the weird and unusual, while Jordan dives into the strange corners of the internet. They are the perfect duo to keep the conversation going in The Evidence Room, making sure that even the spookiest subjects are discussed with a bit of a laugh. It’s the perfect balance of serious investigation and light-hearted fun.
Getting your tickets for SFS 2026
This incredible event is happening on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of April 2026. Sci-Fi Scarborough returns to its spiritual home at the beautiful Scarborough Spa, and it’s an event that’s famously run by the fans, for the fans. It’s a not for profit convention, which means everything is focused on creating the best possible experience.
