|If you're a fan of art, postcards, or just love a good creative challenge, Scarborough's Central Tramway Company has something exciting lined up for you this Easter! Their Easter Postcard Competition is back for a second year, giving people of all ages the chance to showcase their artistic talent. The theme? "Sprinkle of Spring"—a perfect way to capture the beauty of the season.
Whether you're 12 and under, a teenager, or an adult, there’s a category for you. And if you’re the lucky overall winner, your design won’t just win prizes—it will be sold as an actual postcard in the tramway’s shop!

Who can enter?
The competition is open to three age groups:
- 12 and under
- 13-19 years old
- 20+ years old
Each category will have a winner, and from those, the public will vote for an overall winner. So, not only do you get to show off your artwork, but you also get the chance to have the community back your design!
How to take part
- Pick up a blank postcard – You can collect one from the top station of the Central Tramway.
- Get creative – Your design should reflect the theme "Sprinkle of Spring" and include the tramway in some way.
- Submit your artwork – The deadline to enter is Easter Monday, April 21st, 2025.
What can you win?
The prizes include:
- Family day passes to the tramway
- Tramway-themed goodies
- The overall winner’s design will be sold as a postcard in the Central Tramway’s shop
See last year’s winners
If you need inspiration, last year’s winning designs are currently displayed at the tramway’s top station. This year’s finalists will get the same honour, so your artwork could be seen by thousands of visitors over the next year!
Why you should enter
This is a great chance to:
- Express your creativity
- Have your art displayed and recognised
- Win some fun prizes
- Be part of a local tradition
So, if you’ve got a bright idea and love a good challenge, grab a postcard, get designing, and see if your creation can capture the spirit of spring! 🌸
Do you know someone creative? Share this with them—they might just become Scarborough’s next postcard artist!
