Lovely site with clean facilities. Owners were very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. We arrived in the area early but on emailing the owner said we could check in a little earlier. Toilets were very clean with plenty of toilet paper. Had been worried about some of the less flattering reviews but so glad we didn't take them too seriously. The road is a bit busier than we thought it would be but the noise didn't cause us any real problems and to be fair a road to Selby had been closed which may have meant more traffic. Electricity meter wasn't a problem and actually made us a bit more aware of our usage. Nice atmosphere on an evening with other campers sat around the fire pits they'd hired. Overall a great site and we've had a good relaxing break. Couldn't really ask more from a site for a relaxing break. Would definitely come back again and definitely recommend.
We stayed in one of the cottages there. It was spacious, clean and quiet. They left us a packet of shortbread and a small amount of milk which was nice. Not so much a welcome pack as ability to make a cuppa and have a biscuit with it. There was an issue for us with the bathroom. The light comes on automatically and stays on for around 10 minutes along with the fan which doesn't sound bad however this means in the night you can't go quietly to the loo. Everytime one of us went it meant the light waking the other in bed and then this continuing for the next 10 minutes so both being awake. Not sure why they have set it up like that as it doesn't make sense. We would not have used the light at all at night so less electric used and it stayed on far longer than we used the bathroom even for a shower. The door handle was also like a stable one so loud as well. Not really what you want when trying to sleep. Other than this the cottage is well laid out and comfortable. The lady could have been more friendly and didn't seem to want to show us round when we arrived but the duck and chickens were friendly and we didn't see the owners other than that.
Booked for 2 nights and had an amazing time. there are no hook ups for tents, which was not a problem for us, however the pitchup.co.uk site and some others say that they have, however after speaking to the owners they did not know they were on those sites, so just be aware - it's not the owners fault! Price was awesome, the site was basic, but toilets were clean, washing area does not have warm water, however there is a reason for that. Yes you have to pay for the showers but the 5 minutes were more like 20 when we used them. Excellent fire pit service and wood supplied on site at a cheap rate, and I would rather the money went into their pockets than some supermarket or garage. The owners are super friendly and joined all the kids on site for a late night wildlife walk - our kids loved hanging out with them. Yes there are bugs - but guess what - you're camping! I don't know what some people expect some times! - With some tender love and care this site could be amazing! However, that being said, we had a safe, fun time and will definitely be going back now we have found it.
Stayed 4 nights, lovely peaceful site, all facilities are clean. Owners very friendly and helpful. Plenty of space for our caravan and car, electric was a card we purchased for £5 and lasted us all our stay and I was there all the time. Fire pits available to hire. Close to Selby and York. Would definitely recommend and will be back very soon.
Very good campsite with super friendly owners. Stayed here with our Baby and would definitely come back. Facilities are clean, rubbish is being properly recycled (important being a nature’s friend :-)) and we were welcome very warm hearted and polite even though we arrived quiet late. The surroundings are beautiful and the prices more than fair.
