Let's be honest, finding the perfect thing to do for Valentine's Day can be a bit of a faff. The pressure is on to find something that isn't just a box of chocolates or a bunch of flowers from the garage. It’s all about making memories, right? Whether it’s a first date, a ‘mate date’, or your 50th anniversary, the hunt for something a bit different, a bit more exciting, is always on. Well, for anyone in Yorkshire looking to spice things up, Mowgli Street Food might just have the answer. They are launching a special Valentine's Feasting Menu, and it sounds like just the ticket for an unforgettable meal.

A different kind of date night

Forget stuffy restaurants with tiny portions and awkward silences. Mowgli is all about the lively, bustling atmosphere of Indian street markets. Think twinkly fairy lights, rustic wooden tables, and food that’s bursting with flavour. It's the kind of place you can actually have a proper chat and a laugh. The whole idea is about sharing small plates, which is brilliant for a date. You can order a bunch of different things and try a bit of everything. It’s a great way to break the ice – you can chat about what you like, what you don't, and what you're definitely ordering a second helping of.

The menu will be available for a limited time, running from the 9th–15th February.

What to expect from the feast

While the exact dishes on the Valentine’s Feasting Menu are being kept under wraps to build a bit of excitement, one can guess what kind of deliciousness might be in store based on Mowgli's usual offerings. Their food is inspired by the way Indians eat at home and on their streets – a world away from the standard curries many are used to. It's all about fresh, intense flavours that are perfect for sharing. The announcement about the menu launching was eagerly anticipated.

Here’s a little taste of what could be on offer:

  • Street Chaat (Starters) Expect things like Yoghurt Chat Bombs – little crispy puffs filled with chickpeas, yoghurt, and tamarind – or the famous Bhel Puri, a light and crunchy mix of puffed rice, vegetables, and chutneys.

  • Street Meats & Curries (Mains) Perhaps their signature Sticky Wings, cooked in a sweet and spicy glaze, or the comforting House Lamb Curry. There will almost certainly be amazing vegetarian options too, like their paneer dishes or the Holy Chow vegan showstopper.

  • Desserts Something sweet to finish, maybe their Chocolate Brownie with ice cream or a traditional Gulab Jamun – sweet, syrupy dough balls.

Mowgli Street Food has three primary locations in Yorkshire, offering authentic Indian street food in vibrant, rustic settings featuring fairy lights and swings: Leeds (Boar Lane), Sheffield (Ecclesall Road), and Beverley (North Bar Within).
