The Thack South Milford

We’ve been to the Thack a few times since reopening for different occasions - food, the quiz and a few drinks and it’s always a brilliant experience! We went last night to try the tapas menu and it was incredible! Great value for money, portion sizes were more than enough, the food was top tier and fab service as always! Will definitely be back to hopefully make our way through the full menu!!! highly recommend :)

Gareth and Melissa are two of the loveliest souls. Me and my husband have come quite a few times since the pub has reopened, three times for food. Each time, the food has been absolutely delicious and fresh. The lamb and mint pie is probably the best I’ve had in my life, absolutely delicious and filled to the brim🤤 The service has been top class and everyone working has constantly had a smile on their face. They’ve got an awesome range of pints and wine too which is always a plus 😋 Will definitely be back plenty more times 🫶🏼🤍

20 of us just been for our Christmas get together, it was absolutely excellent from beginning to end . Mel, Gareth and staff really looked after us and made the night really special. Food, and service were first class. Bingo was good fun , thanks everyone for an excellent night

This lovely pub was one of the reasons we were convinced on moving to South Milford 9 years ago and after a small blip from 2023 - the start of 2025 under an ownership change after the original two ladies left, it’s a relief that this beautiful pub is back in the hands of people who care about their customers. We went down for our first quiz night with friends this week and enjoyed a few different dishes from the new menu - all very generous portions, tasty and solid pub staples served quickly and with care and attention. The interior of the pub has been refreshed, but still has the lovely old rustic charm, but feels clean and bright. The bar service was great on a busy evening with friendly and efficient staff and a good range of drinks including two IPAs on draught. Maybe we’re biased as we were delighted to win the quiz(!), but a great start to a new era of the Thack with Gareth and Melissa. Thank you!

If you've not tried this lovely place it's a MUST. Gareth and Melissa are by far the loveliest people ever and nothing is too much trouble for them. You can really tell they put their heart and soul at what they do and it's great to see people who take pride and enjoy what they do. The food is incredible, clear that it is freshly cooked and prepared. We came for lunch a short while ago and had a pie meal, 2x steak and ale, whilst I had the cheese and onion pie. One word - INCREDIBLE. The best pie I've ever had, accompanied with fresh mash and veg.The prices are incredibly reasonable and with an extensive menu, you're spoilt for choice too! It may have been the first time I've been for food but certainly not the last. Service was also fantastic and made to feel incredibly welcome, as if you've been before!! ❤️❤️
