Active North Yorkshire - Starbeck Swimming Pool

Really lovely swimming baths and dead quiet when we went (Sunday at 1). Staff were really accomodating when we took our 9 week old for his first swim. The lady even came in to check on us when we got in the pool. Couldnt fault them. My only criticism is that the showers werent working unfortunately and it would be nice to have had a "family room" so both mum and dad can help change a baby. We had to juggle a little between the changing rooms to get him sorted.

We went to this pool for convenience since we were in the area. The pool was warm and changing rooms were clean. The pool however was disgusting. The water was murky with lots of dirt floating around. It was a very small pool and because you can’t dive in, being able to throw balls or have a good swim around would have been good but there wasn’t room because they let so many people in at once! There are 4 showers in a very tight space in the female changing rooms, so inadequate for the amount of customers. For only a few pounds more we could have gone to skipton (or hydro when open again) and had a much better time.

Lovely, helpful staff plus the pool is kept at a warm temp which helps people with a mixture of issues enjoy their experience. The council could make the pool look a little smarter via painting and some new ceiling tiles... But other than that great place for all ages.

Dated but great little pool with excellent staff. Just a fabulous place!! And still our favourite...
