We managed to get a table right before they closed and we weren’t disappointed after hearing really good things about the place. The large fish (which was simply two portions) was lovely and the chips, peas and curry sauce were all top notch. Lovely service provided by the waitress too who was really attentive while we ate, we’ll definitely be back again soon. The menu also includes a variety of options if traditional fish and chips doesn’t take your fancy.
The quality of the food is absolutely outstanding, easily one of the best portions of fish and chips I've ever had. The batter on the fish was super light and perfectly crunchy, the haddock itself was pure white with no skin left on. Chips were perfect chippy chips. It's the little extra things that came with the meal I was particularly impressed with, like the complimentary tartare sauce, one slice of brown and one slice of white bread, a generous slice of lemon for the fish and two teabags in my pot of tea which ended up making 3 lovely cups of tea. The restaurant was spotless and the staff were really polite. My last visit was around 10 years ago and I remember it being good then just not this good. I will return more often from now on!
An excellent chip shop made all the more excellent by the service (apologies here I forgot the name of the tall lady with the bun ! Who was diligently attending to everything stacking tea pots cleaning tables and taking orders) Joe made the tea and very good it was ! The food: Haddock and chips meal twice The chips were excellent the fish could’ve done with a couple more minutes draining to be honest but all in all a great priced experience in a spotless restaurant we even went and looked at the takeaway which was equally spotless … go on treat yourself!
Little expense for standard haddock and chips. However I went for the largest option and ended up with 2 good size pieces of fish and an adequate portion of chips, which for £20 was ok. Also included peas and buttered bread, possibly a drink too. Nice light batter, tasty fish, good chips. Well recommended
Amazing. Fish is fat, chips are perfectly cooked. Service is quick and friendly. Plus a great potion tea 🤗
