Albert Moore

Albert Moore was a prominent English painter of the 19th century, known for his ethereal and dreamlike depictions of classical figures and landscapes. Although he was born in York, he spent much of his career in London, where he became a member of the Aesthetic Movement and exhibited at the Royal Academy. Despite his success in the capital, Moore remained deeply connected to his Yorkshire roots, and his paintings often feature the rolling hills and moody skies of his native county. Today, art lovers from around the world flock to Yorkshire to see Moore’s works in person, and to experience the rugged beauty that inspired him.
