Alf Wright

Alf Wright, better known by his pen name James Herriot, was a beloved British veterinarian and author. Although he was born in Sunderland, his most famous works were set in the rolling hills of Yorkshire, where he practiced as a vet for over 50 years. His books, including “All Creatures Great and Small,” have become synonymous with the Yorkshire countryside and its people. Fans of Herriot’s work can still visit the locations he wrote about and even take a tour of the area to see the sights that inspired his stories.
