Great bar. Really friendly owner. Berliner pilsner on tap along with an array of niche beers. This is exactly what is good about a small independent bar. It's great to see something different from the usual UK brewed stuff. Proper beer that people will travel for. Keep up the good work you are doing everything right.
Making my first ever visit to Toddy. Casta accompanying me on this visit. A short walk from the station we started at The Pub. Lovely location. Seven of eight handpumps in use on our visit. Decided on Salamander Mudpuppy 4.2% best bitter at £4.40. Casta on Victoria lager from Malaga. A simple three room bar with a super pub dog. Very friendly pub. Loads of keg beers etc.
We just called into this place after spending the afternoon shopping in Todmorden. Unfortunately we were refused service, which was greatly embarrassing. The bar man accused my husband of 'appearing intoxicated'. We had been in the indoor market and had one drink in the pub. We also had some food in the little bistro next door. We then left and popped into the Polished knob where we had another drink. This was over a period of 1½ hrs. My husband's speech is sometimes unclear due to health problems but doesn't make him seem drunk. Thank you to the Fox for ruining what had been a relaxing pleasant afternoon.
Always good to find a pub of this calibre so close to a 🚂 station and open on a Monday lunchtime. Peruse the fine choice of cask ales on the board to the left as you enter - craft ales are listed on the right.
