In 2014, the Julie Howard Partnership, a team of restorers bought the former dock offices with a dream of expending their already establish hospitality business within the town. With the already established Lowther Hotel in the town, the group expanded to house a much growing leisure industry. Now after a very long year, the Drake Hotel now is yet another example of a beautiful building being used once again. The Drake Hotel has 10 beautiful bedrooms, along with a very popular Real Ale Bar.
Customers and guests may enjoy a bite to eat from a new menu in the bar or try some beautiful local ale. With a hidden and covered outside court yard, drinkers and smokers and keep away from the main street. Each bedroom has its own Large flat screen TV, iPod Docking station and radio alarm clock, USB power sockets, en-suite shower rooms, tea & coffee making facilities, a writing desk and hair dryers.
We also boast our fluffy towels and marshmallow comfy duvets. The Silentnight mattresses we have are rated at 4000 sprung and 12 inch deep, to guarantee you the best nights sleep. The hotel is located with in the town centre, 2 minutes away from the towns pedestrian precinct with all the shops. The hotel is also located in the main night life/ leisure part of the town on one street. Aire Street boasts a Real Ale Bar, Voodoo Chilli Cocktail bar and The Lowther Hotel Restaurant.
The Drake Inn breakfast is served everyday from 6am and is the perfect way to start your day; the hearty English breakfast is served in the bar and is available to hotel guests and general public.
A new food menu is available throughout the day from 12 till 2pm and 5 till 9pm, offering a mixture of traditional dishes, light bites, Yorkshire Burgers, Panini’s and Desserts.
The Drake Inn real ale bar offers up to 6 hand pulled cask ales, comfortable seating area and entertainment including a pool table and large projector screen showing live sport, making the Drake Inn the ideal place to drink, eat and unwind 7 days a week.
