Morton House group accommodation comprises of two lovely self-catering properties, Morton House and The Stable Block. It is an ideal base from which large groups of family or friends can enjoy the delights of the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.
Morton House is a 17th Century, large, grade II listed, detached 4-bedroom, stone farmhouse oozing with character and The Stable Block is a 18th century 3-bedroom cottage, both properties are right next to each other and are connected by a shared garden. The properties are located just off Masham market square and are within easy walking distance of all Masham’s amenities – pubs, shops, galleries, cafes and two breweries, Black Sheep Brewery and Theakston Brewery.
The 2 properties let together can sleep up to 16 people in the 7 bedrooms or can be rented individually if needed.
Carefully renovated, keeping its charm and features, Morton House has exposed beams, open fireplace, fantastic loft master suite and a farmhouse style kitchen diner, great for gatherings. The two reception rooms at the front of the property mean there is plenty of space for everyone to relax. Upstairs on the first floor are 3 large bedrooms, one of which is ensuite and also the large house bathroom. Up again to the romantic master suit under the beams in the loft with ensuite bathroom.
The Stable Block offers an open plan kitchen, dining and reception area opening to the shared walled garden. With underfloor heating you are ensured to be warm and cosy in the cooler months. There is a double bedroom on the ground floor with wet room ensuite suitable to guests with limited mobility. Upstairs are a further 2 bedrooms and an additional shower room.
Both properties have flat screen TVs with a full satellite package and share a laundry area with washer/dryer and area to store items. If larger storage is required we can direct you to our secure area for bicycles etc. Motorbikes are welcome to be parked on the paved area inside the garden to keep them secure.
There is parking at the door on the street and further off-street parking can be provided if required.
The town of Masham is superbly placed for walking and visiting local attractions. A market has been held here since 1393 when a charter was granted by Richard II and the town subsequently thrived due to the easy access of the flocks from nearby Fountains and Jervaulx Abbeys. It still hosts a market every Wednesday and Saturday, and there are plenty of welcoming pubs and delightful tearooms.
So, whatever the reason for getting together, Morton House is a great destination with flexible self-catering accommodation that suits most groups including multi-generational parties, the location is stunning at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.
