Maison Cottage is located along Maison Dieu in the historic market town of Richmond, North Yorkshire. Sitting high up above the town gives it one of the best views across the whole of Richmond, the River Swale and out to the countryside beyond.
Each of the rooms is dual aspect, so they feel light and spacious. The sitting room is cosy, and immediately feels like a home from home. There is ample seating for 4, a smart TV and a fireplace with an electric fire. The kitchen is well-equipped and has stunning views to distract you from preparing food for friends or family.
The impressive dining room sits in the centre of the luxury cottage. There is a wonderful style, with a Scandinavian touch, a traditional feature fireplace and lots of rich colours. Step out from the large French door down into the south-facing and look out over Richmond and beyond.
On the first floor are two large bedrooms, again with some fantastic views that make them a relaxing and idyllic setting. The beds are large and comfortable, and both king-sized zip-and-link beds which can be also split into twin beds. The master bedroom includes a television, for lazy mornings in bed.
The generously proportioned house bathroom has a separate shower and a large free-standing bath; a perfect spot for a long soak after a crisp country walk in the Yorkshire Dales.
Parking is found along Maison Dieu; while this isn’t private there is always ample space around the cottage.
The garden is enclosed in this Richmond holiday cottage, perfect for groups who are bringing along the pooch. It is a suntrap garden, thoughtfully planted with rose bushes and seasonal flowers around the lawn. There are deckchairs and a seating area. Light the fire pit and enjoy al fresco dining using the BBQ with friends and family - fun in the summer or on a starry evening.

Maison Cottage is a 5-minute stroll into the heart of this historic market town of Richmond. The town has something for everyone, from historic buildings to shops, pubs and restaurants around the large cobbled marketplace. Walk down to The Station by the River Swale, with its award-winning bakery, a café and a two-screen cinema. Saturdays are market day in the centre of the Market Place, where you’ll find lots of local Yorkshire produce.
Its location makes Maison Cottage ideal for exploring. There are trails along both sides of the River Swale, going up past Richmond Falls and bringing you back around via the historic Castle. Beyond Richmond, there are many beautiful market towns to explore. We recommend exploring the wonderful Jervaulx Abbey followed by ice cream at Brymoor, or to visit the market square in Masham and take a tour of The Black Sheep Brewery.
