Set in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a short drive from Pateley Bridge, Ripon and Harrogate, is the Moorhouse, a traditional country lodge guest house B & B, which has hosted royal and celebrity visitors, among them the legendary Bing Crosby.
Owners Simon and Lynn Bostock extensively renovated the Moorhouse in 2009, creating a haven for those who appreciate home comforts in elegant surroundings. From a private car park to the rear of the house, you enter via a spacious and convenient boot room, where on a wet day you can remove your boots and dry your clothes. On the ground floor is the charmingly furnished sitting room for the exclusive use of our guests. With its comfortable sofas, arm chairs and open fire, it is the perfect place to unwind, watch television, listen to music or simply read your book.
Also downstairs is the large dining room, a converted barn, where Jane Goodall, your hostess, prides herself on the warmth of welcome she gives her guests and on the delicious, locally sourced food she serves. Her full English breakfasts are a delight, evening meals can be arranged for full house bookings of eight or more guests. However The Moorhouse is just a short drive from a variety of excellent pubs and restaurants. The Moorhouse is fully licensed to serve alcohol from 6 pm to 11 pm.
There is also WiFi Internet access.
Bedrooms are named after parts of Dallowgill Moor. Two are on the ground floor, Ladywell and Kettlestang. The former is the largest of all our bedrooms, with separate dressing room and spacious bathroom. The latter has an en-suite bathroom specially fitted with grab handles to assist the less able and elderly when bathing or using the lavatory. The remaining 3 bedrooms, Eavestone, Hambleton and Wake Hill, are all up-stairs. Spacious and beautifully furnished, all our rooms have modern en-suite bathrooms with baths and showers and Molton Brown toiletries. Rooms can be configured as double or twin bedded to suit your preference, and you will love our Hypnos pocket sprung mattresses. Hospitality trays and colour televisions with Free View and video player feature in every bedroom, and there is ample wardrobe and cupboard space for all your holiday clothes.
There is a garden to the front of the house, and unspoilt countryside, peace and tranquillity surround us.
For mildly energetic guests, Dallowgill moor, with its spectacular scenery and views, is but an easy walk away.
