North York Moors & Whitby – Day Trip from York
This Day Trip provides the opportunity to explore the scenic and picturesque North York Moors National Park and the seaside town of Whitby. See the famous Kilburn White Horse, the market town of Helmsley (with its quaint cafes and shops and medieval castle), the villages of Grosmont (where you can take an optional discounted steam train ride on the NY Moors Railway) and Goathland (Heartbeat and Harry Potter filming location). You will have three hours free time in the fishing port of Whitby to see Whitby Abbey (inspiration for the Dracula books), visit the Captain Cook Museum, shop for some Whitby Jet or Gothic Fashion or sample Fish & Chips from the famous Magpie Cafe - the choice is yours!
Yorkshire Dales – Day Trip from York
This Day Trip provides the opportunity to explore the stunning landscape of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, visiting Bolton Castle, Aysgarth Falls (filming location for Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves), Askrigg (filming location for Darrowby in the James Herriot All Creatures Great and Small TV series), the conservation village of Arncliffe, The Oldest Sweetshop in the World at Pateley Bridge and the traditional Dales Market Town of Hawes, where you will have the opportunity to visit the award winning Wensleydale Creamery, the home of Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese.
Haworth, Bolton Abbey & Steam Trains – Day Trip from York
This Day Trip provides the opportunity to visit the West Yorkshire Pennine Village of Haworth (made famous by the Bronte sisters and home to the Bronte Parsonage Museum), Bolton Abbey (where you will see the stunning setting of the ruins of the 12th Century Augustinian Monastery), the beautiful traditional Yorkshire Dales village of Burnsall and the option to travel by steam train on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway.
