Elite and Professional Sports Teams
We welcome elite and professional sports teams who can utilise Lakeside House and the superb Ampleforth sports facilities as a training or preparation venue. Our skilled team of facilitators integrate applications such as NLP, MBTI, SDI and BELBIN with team building activities enhancing performance through effective teamwork and relationship awareness.
Our Centre at Lakeside House is a truly beautiful converted farmhouse in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) surrounded by woodland and lakes. Converted in 2011, this former farm house is set in an extremely picturesque setting in the Howardian Hills, in the heart of North Yorkshire. Features include training suite, breakout room, dining room, fully fitted large kitchen, toilets and shower block. The first floor has dormitory style accommodation for up to 20 people. Large and extensive gardens with parking surround the Centre. Larger groups can be accommodated at our superb 102 en-suite bedroom facility within 20 minutes of the Centre. We can also recommend local Hotels and B&B in the area if required.
The peace and tranquillity to be found on the estate offers guests a unique sense of space. Our enviable location, coupled with inspirational team building solutions and outdoor activities, allow people to flourish and overcome the challenges of their day-to-day lives. On site guests can enjoy a round of golf or fishing on the stocked lake. The St Albans Sports Centre is fully equipped with state-of-art gymnasium, an indoor heated swimming pool, squash courts and a large sports hall. Fitness classes including Zumba and Spinning are available. If fitness is not your thing, guests can simply relax and unwind in the beautiful surroundings or take a leisurely stroll down to the lake, situated in one of the most picturesque and protected sites in North Yorkshire.
Nero are situated just minutes away from Ampleforth Abbey and the hamlets of small idyllic villages where guests can experience a selection of traditional public houses and restaurants. The town of Helmsley, one of the most attractive villages in the country, is only 10 minute drive from our Centre. It has a stream round the back of the square, a castle and pubs, restaurants and shops of the highest quality.
Schools and Youth Groups
Activities include a range of practical team working and curriculum support desktop activities that concentrate on developing an understanding of the principles of communication, teamwork, problem solving and leadership. Younger groups can embark on wonderful nature trails and scavenger hunts from the Centre. The team is also available to visit schools, youth organisations or any other youth development scheme.
