Here at Taste the Wild we run courses in wild food foraging and wood fired cookery. Our courses are designed for people who love good food and the outdoors. Taste the Wild are a company passionate about food, the environment and passing on knowledge. We aim to teach and inspire people of all ages to go out and find interesting wild foods to enhance their dishes and diet.
With our own private eighteen acre woodland and access to the stunning North Yorkshire coast line, throughout the seasons we can show you how to find and prepare tasty wild ingredients. From tender shoots and blossoms in spring, flowers and herbs in summer, and autumn fruits and mushrooms.
Courses are available from April to October including: Clay Oven Building; Back to Basics Bread Making; Foraging; Autumn Foraging with Fungi; Coastal Foraging; Deer in a Day; Hot & Cold Smoking; Cider Making and Cooking with Fire. These day courses cost from £85 to £150 and go to the heart of traditional food skills.
