Why come to us for outdoor activities? We are literally a stone’s throw from all the action with changing and shower facilities onsite (so no getting changed on the side of a road or car park). The venues we use are some of the very best in the UK with amazing Caves such as the ‘Goyden Pot System’ and Canoeing at Scar House Reservoir just minutes away. You will be equipped with the best equipment and guided by a truly amazing team of instructors who are always rated very highly on review sites.
How Stean Gorge is the perfect location for outdoor activities like:

- via ferrata and climbing course – high wire adventure – 1 of 3 in the UK (onsite)
- gorge walking or gorge scrambling - Filmed on head cam (onsite)
- caving
- rock climbing
- abseiling

We also offer a number of activities across the UK including Canyoning and Heli – Canyoning.
We are geographically unique, as it’s one of the only places in the UK where you can comfortably enjoy both rocksports and paddlesports in a single day.

All our sessions are available as a half day activity but for a full day of action packed adventure go for ‘the Big 5!’ Five activities all in one day - You’ll take part in gorge walking, caving, abseiling, canoeing and the via ferrata all in the Yorkshire Dales. Lunch is included in the full day session.
Weekend Packages for Groups

Weekend packages are available for friends, family and are a favourite with stag do and hen groups.
Hen and stag celebrations include everything - accommodation, outdoor activities, food, mini bus transport for a night out and either a tour of Theakstons Brewery in Masham, a trip to Harrogate’s famous Turkish Baths and Spa or a night life option in Harrogate.

The licensed café is a perfect way to end your day out, serving a variety of home cooked food from cakes and snacks to hot meals.

All year

The Gorge is very sheltered and can be enjoyed year round with the changing seasons. In many ways it is at its most impressive during the winter when there is more water around and the gorge is teeming with icicles. Open 7 days a week.

How Stean Gorge offers fun for all ages. Whether it's a relaxing stroll or an adventure you are looking for, the Gorge is a perfect place for a family day out.
