The Vintage Carriages Trust is a volunteer-run organisation, based at the Museum of Rail Travel in Ingrow station yard on the Keighley and Worth Valley railway line. We currently own 9 beautifully restored vintage carriages, a railbus, 3 historical steam locomotives and a big archive collection of railway posters, signs and other miscellaneous artefacts.
The museum displays our wonderful range of rolling stock and displays for visitors to enjoy; the sound and video presentations allow people to really experience the true history of railway travel. Our carriages have been featured in over 70 different films and television series – so you can sit where the stars once sat too!
You don’t have to be a rail enthusiast to have fun at the Museum of Rail Travel. There’s something for everyone!
Entry to the museum shop and magazine room is free, and visitors with membership to the Worth Valley or day rover KWVR tickets can enter the museum for free with vouchers too.
The money we make from admissions, donations and film work all goes to the upkeep and restoration of our vintage carriages; we even have our own workshop at the back of the museum.
In collaboration with both the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and the Bahamas Locomotive Society, we form ‘Rail Story’, which is the name given to the site at Ingrow that really gives visitors a full taste of historical travel and the importance of railways, whilst also being a fun day out for all the family.
