The Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery

Museum/Heritage/Gallery/Visitor Centre

The Gallery offers innovative contemporary exhibitions and displays treasures from the University Art Collection and the University Library Special Collections.

Entrance is free for visitors to experience the University’s exceptional art collection. Featuring over 3,500 works, the collection includes stunning examples of European and British painting, drawings and prints, dating from the 17th century up to the present day, as well as small collections of sculpture, ceramics, miniatures and photographs.

The Gallery offers a lively programme of public events, including artist talks, round-table discussions, and creative workshops.

Burton Saturdays are free creative activities for all ages, offered most Saturdays thanks to the generous support of the Audrey & Stanley Burton Charitable Trust. The Gallery also hosts a wide range of educational activities in the Education Room – everything from University teaching to school and community group activities.

Visit the Gallery website and sign up to our monthly e-newsletter for information on upcoming exhibitions and events or to get involved.

The Gallery is an Arts Council England accredited museum.

Please note: We are closed bank holidays and days when the University buildings are closed.
