Campbells of Leyburn is an independent family owned supermarket that has been serving the dales and beyond since 1868. It combines the products and services that make it both an Aladdin's cave where pleasant surprises are always in store alongside the very inexpensively priced Costcutter items. Campbell's boasts a wealth of speciality and deli products including an enviable range of artisan cheeses, oils, fresh fruit and vegetables including exotic varieties. More than 1,500 quality wines from all over the world compete for attention upstairs in the store alongside 150 spirits. With so many local breweries in the Yorkshire area, real ales are in abundance.
Campbell's in-house butchery offers the full range of meats including special breeds, that have made Yorkshire livestock farmers an international by-word for quality.
The ancient market town of Leyburn is the gateway to Wensleydale, the central of the three main dales running through the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Situated in the heart of this ancient market town Campbell's unique character has developed over almost 150 years of serving the residents of Leyburn,the surrounding villages and the many visitors who flock to the area from every corner of the world.
Campbell's is very involved in the local community and among its many accolades is the recent title of winner of the Herriott Awards for the independent supermarket category.
