New for 2017 – already open
Hit Cbeebies animated series Peter Rabbit is heading to Flamingo Land with an all-new Peter Rabbit Adventure attraction from mid July. Join Peter, Lily and Benjamin in their Secret Treehouse before testing your skills on Benjamin Bunny’s Treetop Trail. Hop along to Jeremy Fisher’s musical pond to explore giant instruments and learn about sounds from the giant lily pads.
We are sure fans of all ages will love exploring Lily Bobtail’s Nature Discovery where you can crawl through tunnels and find creepy crawly creatures in Bug Log.
The two-storey Hub entertainment complex opened at Easter and features the Upper Deck fish & chip restaurant with adjacent HMS Bouncy soft play area and takeaway counter. This leads onto an outdoor balcony where you can enjoy your refreshments whilst admiring the view of roller coasters and the Splosh water area. You can create your own best friend at Teddy Mountain, where after selecting your chosen bear, you can add stuffing to it yourself, add a scent and sound and select its outfit.
The Selous Black Rhino Reserve has recently welcomed Baringo II, a new male who is part of an international breeding programme. He has joined the 3 females already housed there. We have also now welcomed 2 new male white rhinos in May, both aged 2, replacing the 2 mature males that have recently moved to other animal collections.
Our new rainbow lorikeet walk-in aviary has also now opened, where you can buy a pot of nectar to feed these brightly coloured birds.
Also, keep an eye out for this Season’s babies. Visit Sophie, our female Rothschild giraffe calf born in January, and her younger brother born in early May. You can also see the zebra foal that was born in April out in the paddock with her parents.
Thrilling Theme Park
If you are looking for white knuckle thrills, there is a sensational collection of 8 extreme rides, including the latest roller coaster Hero that puts visitors in a superhero flying position before swooping them around a track. There is also the Guinness World Record Breaking Mumbo Jumbo, with the steepest drop (2009).
In addition there is a great choice of junior and family rides. All the attractions in Dino-Stone Park have a dinosaur theme. Soar 45 metres into the air on the Pterodactyl swing, spin on the family coaster Twistosaurus and pedal on Cyclosaur. See animatronic dinosaurs, life-size Dino skeletons and search for dinosaur bones in the Dino Dig sand.
Award Winning Zoo
Flamingo Land is one of the UK’s most visited Zoos (Source: Visit England). With over 140 species of reptiles, mammals and birds, you can enjoy an amazing view of the animal kingdom. A variety of animal feeding times with Keeper Talks and a sea lion show are included within your admission. For unrestricted views, meander through the lemur, wallaby and rainbow lorikeet walkways.
Short Breaks and a Campsite
Flamingo Land is an ideal base for a short break or longer holiday, located at the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The Flamingo Land Holiday Village is situated right next to the theme park, and offers luxury accommodation from holiday homes to premium lodges. And for guests who want to be at the heart of the action, 4 newly refurbished self-catering cottages are now available. Featuring 2 and 3 bedroom options with hot tubs, you will find these Riverside Cottages conveniently located alongside Riverside One. There is also the premium venue, The Gate House, available for hire, which is within the local village Kirby Misperton.
Alternatively, you can bring your own touring caravan, motorhome or tent, or buy your own holiday home. Staying guests have exclusive use of the swimming pool with flume slides and water jets, plus newly refurbished leisure facilities including a new gym, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and cafe. There is also a 9 hole golf course. The Club is a premium entertainment venue for Holiday Village guests.
New Attractions - coming soon
Towards the end of August, you will be able to experience the thrills of self-drive kart racing over a 300-metre circuit. Featuring a figure-of-eight format, you and your fellow competitors can enjoy side-by-side racing over three individual lanes on ‘Flamingo 1’. Although the majority of the circuit is outdoors, it also passes through our new Hub building. Spectators can also watch the action from a dedicated elevated viewing area.
From mid August you will also be able to see Peter Rabbit and Lily Bobtail character costumes walking around the Peter Rabbit Adventure playground and joining the Farewell Show.
