3 Peaks Cycles and Cafe

Food/Drink-Centred Attraction, Retail

Welcome to 3 Peaks Cycles, situated in Settle Market Place. A quick look at a map confirms that we are in the heart of magnificent cycling country for both on and off road enthusiasts. The Way of the Roses goes right past the front door, the Settle Loop (part of the Pennine Bridleway) does the same. The route of the Yorkshire’s Grand Depart and the 2019 World Championships is accessible from here and the Tour de Yorkshire finished here in 2016. Our namesake, the gruelling 3 Peaks Cyclocross Race, held every September, starts just up the road at Helwith Bridge.

Our staff are all riders – from competitive to social, on road and off road, so we know the local trails and roads really well and can advise where the best places are to ride. We’re 15 minutes from the excellent trails at Gisburn Forest and 45 minutes from Grizedale in the Lakes. This area is a real hotspot for mountain bikers and road bikers who love the wide open quiet roads heading up towards Ribblehead Viaduct and beyond.

Our café opened in Spring 2017 making us the complete hub for all things cycling in the area. Our coffee is locally roasted and food is locally sourced. We have a huge range of over 100 bikes, clothing for all weathers and accessories to totally pimp your ride, as well as a superbly equipped workshop. We have equipment to suit all types and levels of rider, whatever they need.

If you don’t have a bike or need to hire one, we stock the complete size range of the very capable Genesis Core 20 hardtails, and a range of pedal assisted electric bikes from Cube and Diamondback great for trail centre routes or a canter around the local roads. Maps of our local area are available in print or on Komoot, with some of our favourite routes detailed, are provided, so you can go straight to the best bits of this special corner of the Yorkshire Dales. If you decide to buy a bike after renting one, we refund the hire cost to you. Check out our online shop – see the link on this page.

The shop also runs a Strava group and those that ride to most or fastest during the week are rewarded with coffee and cake.
